I feel your pain. They destroyed browsing completely. I could not find the parts I needed.

I really do feel like hitting somebody over the head with a hammer it's that bad! Why the hell change a half decent system over to this absolutely dire mess? You used to be able to see all the capacitor types on one page now you've got pages upon pages of random capacitors, no rhyme or reason, and they actually boast that this is some great leap forward and will make your browsing a lot faster. Absolute Bollocks.

dont you jsut hate it when a technically based website changes its apperance in a way that LOOKS better to people who should not even browse it anyways, and alienates the people who need to use it most.

it totally suxors.

at least you dont have to click in a box at the end of a long, "unavoidable," and unskipable flash animation to get in (yet.)

Farnell took me all of about 1 minute to look for some op-amps.

With RS's new browers... urghh.... 10 minutes or so.

Search doesn't seem to want to work properly. I was after some (2)132 or (2)134. I went by category but that only had the 132. Stupid RS only stocked one of the 2132/132 I needed, can't remember which one, so I decided to look for the 134s. Nowhere to be found. After finding some weird way of searching I found it in a completely different section. Even though it's pretty much the same as the 132s.

Looking for SMD ferrites, instead of giving say one result then a table of values, it gave results for every value they had. The only way to find out the values they have without searching through all results is to bring up a part of any value, select some crossreference tab, then find the part no.s and look them up on the datasheet. What a pain!

The previous format was a little awkward at times, but atleast they had a table of values and some basic specs. Now it looks prettier but just plain sucks.

I've already done it and I certainly won't be using them "until" they make it easy to find stuff again (ie: revert to the way it was) I've no time for this type of bastardisation of a perfectly good web site there are plenty more firms out there where I can spend money, not just RS.

Gentlemen, thank you for letting us know of your concerns over the efficiency of the new site. We are always looking for feedback.

I am interested in your experience with the site, especially as they would appear to be a shared view. Could I ask that you share this with me directly so I can see what products you were after and the steps you followed?

Please contact me directly: alan.mears@rswww.com

Thank you

Ok (to the RS guy) let's give you a simple example.

From the menu I am searching for capacitors so I go to "passives" and then "capacitors" I am then presented with loads of pages of random capacitors in no particular order and it takes me ages to find what I am looking for (and that's if I know what I'm looking for in the first place)

Before this horrendous change I would go to "passives" and then "capacitors" and would be presented with a page which listed all your capacitor types with pictures (ie: non polar, electrolytic, polypropylene etc. etc) it was then a simple case of clicking on the capacitor type of your choice and you would be taken to a page which displayed the capacitor type you were looking for.

I really don't have to tell "you" all about your older search engine as I'm sure you are well aware how it worked but I shall tell you that this latest one is absolutely abysmal and you stand to lose quite a few customers if you stick with it. It is NOT user friendly, it is inherently flawed and is about as useful as a car without wheels when it comes to finding anything.

The previous engine was MUCH better, there's not a lot more I can add really.
