I like Auralex. They make a nice product, it's inexpensive, and they offer a few different levels of design service. I can't speak for the design services since I haven't used them, but I do use the product--particularly the studio wedges.
I chose some German huge bass-traps instead because of my European location. They make a nice improvement. Be very careful not to use only thin (2-3 inch) acoustic foam on walls because you then dampen frequencies effectively above about 300 Hz but still have a considerable reverberation time in the bass, and may get even more problems because of the imbalance (diffuse, slow and swollen bass).
this site has alot of info and videos about acoustics...a good place to know how to get to know your room..
the auralex is sold online and its by far the cheapest priced stuff I have seen, $100..for like 30 something sheets of foam..something like that.
the probelm with me is knowing where to place the stuff, which is why I went out and borrowed a radio shack db meter...
hopfully with my next day off I will be able to do some tests to see what my ears see.
