Hello Head-fi'ers, I was doing some investigation work for Rockboxing an 7 Gen IPod, so I realized that it's not possible -or not- but I hope that someone give me some answers, if it's possible to <install> RB on further generations of IPods.


 


The reasons why I want to install it on that generation are several: 


 

1. 
   Many more supported encodings that the original firmware
2. 
   More disk space (about 160GB)
3. 
   Extended battery life
4. 
   Design
5. 
   Crashes caused by the drive fixed

 


So... it's possible to install RB on newest generations of IPods?

You mean 7th generation. There is no 8th generation. Yes it's possible.
