Hey, I'm trying to rip a DVD to .wmv in WMP11. Does anybody know how to do this? I've searched a bit online without any success, and I just dl'd WMP11 and can't find the Hlpe menu yet! Thanks for any help.

EDIT: Found the Help menu, but it wasn't helpful. Thanks again.

WMP doesn't rip DVDs. You can copy the data on your DVDs with DVD decrypter. It will not be in wmv format but you can play it with WMP if you have the appropriate auxiliary software installed (for decoding DVDs).

You need third party software to do such. It would never happen that WMP would rip DVDs directly to a distributable format. DRM would have a field day. You need third party software, most available are legal, and you'll pay about 30$.

Yeah, I wasn't too sure about this capability. Prior to purchasing me Gigabeat, I remembered reading something about using WMP for wmv files, but I think what I remembered reading was that if you try to transfer a video file that's not wmv, it'll automatically convert it. Got my wires crossed! Thanks for the help.
