hi,
I have been ripping my cd's to FLAC using the free JetAudio player.
A lot of people here swear by EAC (Exact Audio Copy).
Does it really matter which software I use to rip to FLAC?

How can there be differences? Just wondering?

Technically you rip to WAV/AIFF and encode to FLAC. The encoding part of EAC (usually through a plugin) doesn't matter much if you have a recent version. JetAudio's player probably does this fine. Where EAC advantages come into play is ripping a CD with scratches, etc. Even if it's a tad over-rated around here as a necessity (and the CD drive is at least as important), it's still the best ripper with troublesome CDs.
