Hey all,

First off, I'm really not sure what the appropriate sub-forum is for this. So if this is incorrect, I'm sorry.

I'm looking for ripper/encoder suggestions for linux. Preferably something that can do FLAC and mp3.

Thanks!
George

I have recently used k3b (part of kde) and grip is good one too. Both use cdparanoia to read the cd for reliable reads.

If you want to use EAC it works just fine using wine. It is the only one that can bypass caching cd drives to detect read errors, cdparanoia can not do that right now as far as I know.

Rubyripper can also do this (supposedly).
