The sound quality on this thing....

I'm sure the "legendary" Karma sound everyone is referring to is the line-out, not the headphone jack right...?

Because my 4G Ipod sounds better then the Headphone jack on the karma

Nope, normally Rio Karma users refer the "legendary SQ" from the headphone out.

It is interesting that you find your 4G iPod sounds better because I know that tons of Rio Karma users will claim differently. I guess this has something to do with headphone synergy.

And we have to remember that humans hear things differently

i think it might be a placebo effect myself, because when i first got my Sansa, i thought it sounded beter than my 4g ipod, so i sold the ipod... i miss 20gb....

I've never done a side by side test of my Karma and any iPod with flat EQ, but with my custom EQ set just the way I liked it, the Karma blew any iPod I ever heard out of the water.

One of the coolest little known features of the EQ on both the Karma and the Vibez is that "if the overall effect of the equaliser bands is to boost some frequencies above 0dB, the overall output gain is automatically reduced to compensate" to prevent clipping. LINKAGE.
