I just bought a Carbon from a friend for $70. What are people experiences with the reliability of this player? Is this more relible than the Karma?

I've had no trouble with mine, have had it since they first came out.
Every once in a while it will just shut off, but this is pretty rare.
The carbon's design flaw is the scroll wheel. Mine fell out of my lap, hit the scroll wheel and broke. Whenever the chroma comes out (next generation carbon), and if it has the same design, I am thinking of modifing the scroll wheel area with some plumber's putty, so if it were to fall, it would strike the putty and not the wheel. So the wheel would not stick out like it does.
Otherwise, a great player IMO, but I'm sure there are horror stories.
