Right-angled Toslink adapters degrade signal quality ?

Assuming they are well made (and thus their usage does not result in an intermittent signal) I don't see why they would have any affect on audio quality.

I know optical cables shouldn't be bent up to 90 degrees.  A 90 degrees adapter should be a simple but very precise angled transformer to achieve perfect signal transmission.  Hence I'm wondering if you can really get one that is built well enough to do the job accurately enough.

I couldn't find any cable that is already right-angled, which increased my doubt of its accurate functionality.

There are quite many products out there that do sell and to pretend doing the job right, but once tested by professionals they'll be ruled out quickly.  I'm just trying to avoid of that, if this is the case with those adapters as well.
