On my last business trip, I lugged my Nikon D70s around Japan with me and there were a few times when I missed a great shot because of the time that I took me to get the camera out of my bag. Along with the weight of the D70s and Tamron 17-50mm lens, the size had made the camera a bit difficult to travel with, especially when I'm at a different city everyday and lugging my baggage and work bag around.

For trips like this, I was thinking of traveling with a good point and shoot camera. I was considering cameras such as the Nikon P5000 or Canon G7 but then I came across the Ricoh GX100. It seems to be as capable as the other two cameras but the main difference is that it has a wide focal length, 24mm. I even played around with it at Bic Camera but didn't know much about it. Does anyone here have this camera and what have been your impressions of it?

yeah i know. it was just easier to carry the D70s in my bag transferring from train to train with my luggage in tow.
