Is there any simple way I can "revitalize" older rubber? You know how old rubber is, less stretchy, sometimes brittle, dry and smooth, losing gripping power, etc...

Is there any way I can reverse this?

You talk about gripping power, so I assume the rubber in question is in donut shape and connected to one of those curious devices that convert gasoline into motive power.
If that's the case, I'd say replace. Revitalized tires are false economy. Sure, you'll spend less in the short run, but you'll be very sorry (and possibly dead) when one suddenly blows while you're doing 150 km/h on the highway.
