I'm not asking folks to break their NDA's etc...
Just thoughts on if it's likely for Asus to head in this direction w/their next rev. of ST, STX, or E1.
Thanks very much to those who can spare a minute or two.

Aha, sorry

Why don't you get the ASUS Xonar D2 PM ? its a great card with a functionaliy more than you could imagine ,, lol

Plus, no one can tell you that kind of information.. even an insider wouldn't .. it hurts their sails.

Seriously, is it that hard to look up the specs?
PCI-E version: http://www.asus.com/Multimedia/Audio_Cards/Xonar_D2X/#specifications

^
+1 ..  for a PCI-Express  the D2X is the way to go .. it supports digital out  (DTS connect / DDL) and Dolby headohone.

Remember, a PCI-E x1 card will work with PCI-E x1/x4/x8/x16 across all generations with no problems.

Umm...
It's not, and I did, & it (they) clearly doesn't meet any of my requirements.*
Which is why I queried again, if they were "certain" it (they) does.

*beyond what my ST already does, I outlined what they are.

Well, the Essence has Digital out, but I assume you must be wanting optical *shrug*

Also, if you're worried about a PCI slot, I'd mod that H6 in here: http://www.silverstonetek.com/images/products/cw02/CW02s-06.jpg (though with 7 available, I don't see what the problem is). Which if optical IS your problem, might as well just mod a coax->optical adapter next to the H6 and use the internal digital header to feed it signal.

Yes I had planned to mod my CW02 for that very purpose, & in a very similar fashion IIRC.

As mentioned in that post I linked to....
I'm wanting digital-out, analogue-out, & possibly even multi-ch amp (although not imperative) all integrated into the one card, or USB enclosure.
I actually will be using every slot, so I want to avoid the H6 taking one if I can.

If Asus has no plans to release such a card, then I guess I'll have to continue with that plan.

Thanks for your thoughts.

^ Okay, about to proceed with this mod of my case soon.
If anyone knows that Asus does in-fact have plans to release something more akin to my requirements.
Then please do advise ASAP...  Thank-you!
