Hello,

Does anyone know if the normal protection cases for the ipod classic works the 240gb modded version?

Thanks.

They don't. Modern cases for the current version are slimmer. all 240GB mods require a thicker back casing. The thicker back casing makes the ipods the same thickness as the fat 6th generations. The only ones that fit that I would use (and do) are from iSkin Claro clear ones.

The one sold is the one I bought. Legit and top cases. They're tanks! I removed the clip though as i mounted the ipod in a portable rig setup.

Had mine for nearly 4 months and it's got no scratches on it. the plastic is VERY resistant.

Oh and hey, welcome to Headfi! Most people will say something to you like "sorry for your wallet", but I won't. You don't need to spend lots of money to get good sound. Consider yourself vaccinated from "Upgrade-itis"

Thanks for your answer.
That case is very nice, but the only seller that ships to my country has a shipping cost + tax insurance of 30 Usd, which is more than the case itself : /

Do you know if this one would work?

They say in the description that it is not suitable for the 7g 2010 iPod. Is it the same as the pre-2009 case you showed me?

Thanks in advance.

I can't tell too much from the picture but from what I know, that case is made a for a slim model, not a fat-backed model

you guys are funny, its accualy cheaper to replace both back and front cover 2 times instead of buying this case lol

Cheaper perhaps, but i think most people would rather pay a little more to save the hassle of replacing the front and back. It's no quick job and can always carry risk of damaging the internals :)

I got one from this seller, the ipod is genuine and ONLY the hard drive and the back plate were replaced, everything else remained stock Apple, it feels like an iPod should feel and funtion. The replicas have fit and finish problems, not to mention the feel of them.

Hey, about your purchase..what was the condition of the product? Brand new or with a few flaws such as scratches?

The description said the hard drive and back cover had been replaced with new ones and everything else was genuine apple and had not been replaced.

The front cover and clickwheel had just a few very tiny scuff marks, but this happens to any mobile device after the first day of being in your pocket so it didn't concern me. I was looking for an iPod in Excellent condition with all genuine apple components and the 240 GB hard drive and I got just that. Some people say that some iPods get the front cover and clickwheel replaced with replicas and they don't feel or respond the same and the fit and finish is not quite as good as stock. So if you are looking for one of these it is better that all those things remain genuine Apple even if they have a few marks. Trust me on that.

Communication with the seller is important. Don't just buy it. Read the description and look at the feedback. Ask questions. Ask for more pictures if uncertain.

Oh, in that case, it sounds pretty promising!
Might go down the Classic line soon:)
