Is there a significant difference between the N3 and the N1?  On paper they seem very close and I'm not too interested in the IEMS they include with the N3.

The main technical differences are in the built-in storage capacity (4GB vs 16GB) and the power rating of the built-in headphone amp.
 
I can't comment about sound differences cos I own the N3 only.

I only have N3 too, but16gb is handy. Give the included IEMs to friends like I did.

Rhapsodio K2 is good as you can change the op-amp to tailor the sound to your liking. Or a JDS Labs Cmoy BB
