REVIEW: Fidue A31s & A63 - New contenders

Can you do a more detailed comparison between a63 and kc06a? I'm planning buying another iem. I'm coming from a sony xba-10. And i want the same sound signature but with better soundstage.

never listen to the xba10 so can really comment. but as for a63 vs 06a goes, the a63 is very mid centered in comparison with very smooth both ends. the kc06a has the better balance bass-mids-highs and wider stage. and likes being amped or well powered. the a63 didn't show much difference when amped

What earphone sounds better unamped, the KC06a or Fidue A63?

unamped, it will depend on the sound your looking for. and also what your 'unamped' source will be

I'm looking for a forward, very clear midrange with sparkly, non fatiguing treble, and tight, extended subbass with a midbass bump.

My unamped source is a laptop with a decent onboard soundcard, and Ipad 4 retina.

not sure if an exact match, but the kc06a will be closer to your needs in bass and treble. the 06a is not as forward as the a63 in midrange, but it is more clear and detailed
your source should be enough too.

You said it's not AS forward, but do you still consider it forward?

Kc06a seems promising. What about pistons 2 vs kc06a? You think its worth 4x the price of the pistons2 ?

yes. i'd say it is forward. then again, if you liked the xba10 you may or not like the kc06a
here's the KC06a review anyway

Would you recommend the A31s for sleeping and watching videos in bed. I have pretty bad insomnia and most nights I entertain myself to sleep with anime or Netflix. My main concern is the cable considering I toss and turn and mainly lay on my side.

the A31s include a pair of earguides, if you'r concerned about the cable.
the new re300h from hifiman is also very comfortable and low profile
