As far as using MP3 on the DAP, I do that as well, with everything but my 160GB Classic...but I rip to FLAC and then make an MP3 conversion from the FLAC.
It does have Error Correction.
Also, those who actually want to conserve space on their DAP will be ripping to MP3.
