Review and Measurements of Geshelli ENOG2 Pro DAC

On first listening, the ENOG2 sounded like a cheap DAC with the supplied 12V wall wart. The bottom end was muddy, flatheads would feel at home. Couldn't listen to it for long.

I didn't have a 12V linear supply to hand, a PP3 and 2 AA's did the trick for an hour. The improvement was substantial and proved the point. Perhaps it was the battery at fault, the top end was more prominent than with the wall wart, very clear though, maybe leakage from something.

The DAC's recommended voltage source is 12V (no more than 13) at 500mA, the DAC actually pulls 200mA. A Linear PSU would need to be added to the ENOG2's purchase price. As to which one? Might try a DIY and combine the PSU and DAC in the same box.

Source : Xeon music server Win2016, Roon, JCAT NET Femto card, Lumin U1, Coax, Accuphase C-2420 Preamp.
Reference DAC: Accuphase DP-720.

The Z review of this DAC is worthless, don't bother, at least Amir keeps a steady screen shot.
