So I was just watching this old movie with Gene Hackman called "The conversation" and there is a surveillance guy in the first scene that uses quite a nice pair or on-ear cans that I haven't seen before. Can any of you retro-headphone specialists give me a clue on the model or at least the maker?

Beyer DT48, a classic introduced in 1937. Was recently seen in the “Birdwatchers” episode of Midsumer Murders. A bit more in this thread:
