is it really necessary to send an email for every single little thing you do on this forum.. my email box is jam packed with dross. i have had to go and turn everything off in my preferences.

You can adjust future email notification settings in Account Preferences and Alert Preferences, but modifying those settings will not remove you from any active notification subscriptions. You can stop email notifications from threads on your All Subscribed Threads page using the check boxes and the drop down menu at the bottom of the page.
