Are IEMs generally resistant to shocks when being dropped from a height.

Today i dropped my shure cans from 70 cm while i was trying to connct them to the extension cable and the landed on my printer. Nothing serious seems to have happened but it got me thinking what can generally go wrong.

Anybody have any information as what the possible damage may be when earphones are dropped? IS it possible for the internal drivers to result in certain damages?

Well, depends how the earphones are build.
My first pair SE530's were SO irritating, because the right earpiece had a crossover that started to move around when some frequencies were played, creating a really nasty ringing sound that was not THAT noticeable, but it was there, destroying all the fun.
So I'm pretty careful with my SE530's, but my SE210's, SE310's and E4C's were all pretty bully-proof

What do you mean exactly?Did you drop your first pair and then this sound that you describe started happening?
cause i got the 530s as well.In my case fortunately it doesn't seem to be any damage but what happened in your case if you don't mind me asking?
