Is this the right forum to post this in? I was thinking it should be either here or maybe the DIY forum. thanks!

Here is a layout of my room:

- the north wall and east wall are made of concrete
- all the other walls and the floor are made of wood
- the height of the room is 8.5 feet

I just wanted to know what I could place in my room (eg. carton egg trays, foams, carpet, heavy curtains) to enhance the sound that is coming out of my sound system as much as possible... lows, mids, highs... lessen unwanted noise.

Also, what is the optimal place to put my sound system in?

Any suggestions would be really appreciated.

That's actually a really nice room, what with it not being symmetrical and all.

The first thing you should do is get some bassbusters for the corners, though.

Hey, thanks for all the replies so far!

I already got the idea that the room is pretty neat for audio treatment since its not symmetrical (wow, just imagine if your room was a perfect cube

)

what im thinking right now is having the speakers near the window... and put a decent rug on the floor...

what are bass busters by the way?

and how would you know where the sound comes off the walls by placing mirrors?

I don't know -- your post covered it all pretty concisely.
