Not sure if this has been discussed or considered before, but in case it hasn't, I'd like to propose the following things that in my view would make the site a more useful resource.
1. Ability to mark individual posts as favorites, perhaps with a facility to add custom description so that it can be retrieved later without a need for full text browsing.
This would help a lot with finding again some excellent posts that are buried in megapost threads.
2. Threads subscribed to should remember the last accessed post and allow to continue where we left off, without a need to generate meaningless posts just to be able to track the conversation.
3. Personally I'd love some way to categorize threads I'm following - for example to separate threads related to gear I own and gear I'm researching.
