Guys,

Anyone could list me the tubes compatible with the MAD Ear+ Purist HD2.

I'm looking for some replacement and need to know exactly what i should look for other than the stock tubes models (5751 and ECC99). I know the ECC83 and 12AX7 are compatible, but which of the 2 stock tubes those can replace? Are there any other tubes models that i can look for? What about the 12BH7A?

I wanna replace both tubes for new ones.

Thanks in advance ...

The 12ax7 is for the gain position. The 5751 you currently use is a lower gain substitute for the 12ax7. Personally, I like the better 5751's vs the better 12ax7's.

A very nice sounding tube you can sub for the 12ax7/5751 is the 12az7. The 12az7 requires just a small amount more heater current so I would use this tube in conjunction with the 12bh7a if you want to try one. When I had my original Ear+ the 12az7 was my favorite sounding gain tube

12AX7 Substitutes
Close or identical 12AX7R, CV10319, CV492, ECC83
Different rating or performance 12AX7A, 12AX7S, 12AX7WA, 5751, 5751WA, 6057, 6681, 6L13, 7025, 7382, 7494, 7729, B339, CK5751, CV4004, CV4017, CV8156, CV8222, CV8312, E2164, E83CC, ECC803, ECC803S, ECC863, M8137, QB339

The ECC99 has no sub but the 12bh7a has the same pinout and will work according to Mapletree. I think the 12bh7a is an excellent sounding tube that I much prefer to the ECC99 .... the build quality and life expectancy is better with the 12bh7 too. I use the 6 volt equivalent to the 12bh7 called the 6gu7 and the 6gu7 is one of my very favorite tubes in my Singlepower amps. Unfortunately you cant use the 6gu7, which only operates at 6 volts vs the 12 volts the amp requires, as they are inexpensive compared to the 12bh7.

The RCA 12bh7 is the warmest and most refined while the Sylvania 12bh7 is a clean, clear fast sounding tube. The GE 12bh7 is good sounding too but I prefer the other two 12bh7s I mentioned.

Listed below are three vendors that will have any of the nos tubes you seek. I use these vendors all the time and they offer good prices and excellent service. The first two test the tubes before shipping and guarentee the tube to be good.
