One day, I'll have to order new pads for my A900s from Audiocubes. My question is: since most of the audio-technica line pads (A1000, W1000, W2002) are similar in price, can I purchase a better quality (better material!) pad from a W1000 or W2002 and make it fit on my A900s? I realize the A1000 pads fit great, but I was hoping I could get some of that nicer pleather on my face from the W1000/W2002 pads...

(and if I can, would there be a change in sound/sound quality?)

Eventually I'll need to replace the pads, as they are already starting to uh...don't know the word... crumble a bit. Basically, the pleather is starting to wear down. Besides! I think they'll look better and feel more comfortable with better pleather pads. Maybe I should order W2002 and A1000 pads and try a little pad rolling lol.

could you post a new thread once you have substituted the pads with W1000 pads ? (maybe with pics ?)
i wanna know how its done and how well it fits... i might wanna change too, if its not so hard to do.

but about crumble, i think they all are sort of crumbled straight from the box.
try not to listen to it while your hair is wet, it will wear down faster i reckon.

Are the A1000 pads really different from the A900 pads )I mean in terms of quality/material)?

If the A1000 would be really higher in quality I will order a pair of A1000-pads together with my new A900 order.

Please advice,
