Hi there,

I am looking for new pads to replace the damaged ones for my audio technica a1000x and I would need some help.

Does anybody know which pads are compatible? I have read several posts talking about comp/incomp-atibility among different ath models but nothing related to the a1000x. I guess I would be on the safe side buying the ones for the a2000x from audiocubes (http://www.audiocubes2.com/brand/Audio-Technica/product/Audio-Technica_Replacement_Pads_for_ATH-A2000X.html).

As I will buy new pads anyway I was thinking on maybe buying real leather pads like the ones for the w5000 (http://www.audiocubes2.com/category/Headphone+Accessories/product/Audio-Technica_Replacement_Pads_for_ATH-W5000.html) but I need to know if they would be compatible with my cans and also would like your opinion on how the sound would change. I guess I would get less isolation and less bass with the leather ones. What do you think?

Any other option apart from audiocubes?

Thanks for the tip, I asked them and they replied really quick and sort saying that they do not have A1000X parts. Having that sort answer I did not want to insist or explain that other pads could fit the A1000X.

I think you should ask them anyway if they know whether or not any of the parts they do have fit the A1000x. You'd think that they do. Like I said, doesn't hurt. Unless somebody else here on the forums knows the answer.
