I was going to buy the NS1000s on play.com for £50, put the deal ended yesterday

My original plan was to buy these and the sjays for about £85 total.

Strikes me as a bit of a waste to get 2 pairs, so now have £85 to spend on a portable pair, which I am going to amp through a fiio e5 connected to a sansa clip.

My music consists of everything bar hardcore rap/RnB, jazz or metal.

Some of the offers in the forsale section looked quite nice, but I have no idea what I'm looking for.

I've seen a number of folks in the portable/IEM section recommend the Senn CX-55 IEM (not available in the US).

If you want some not-quite-so portable, but excellent up close sound, I recommend the Grado SR80 -- the 5 pound up from the SR60 is worth it. Different sound than the Senns, but it really grows on you once they've burned in 60-80 hours.

I'm holding on for the Sennheiser HD238's, but I've just manage to get my hands on a pair of these.

i'm hoping they'll arrive tomorrow. apart form that, there's always the c-jays. here's my review. but i don't think they'll suit your music though!
