i'm going to replace the cable on my K340s once they arrive with canare star quad and am just trying to figure out what the best way to terminate it would be. i'm assuming that each channel will get one signal and one ground, with the two grounds combining at the jack (or i could connect them in the phones, it wouldn't matter too much, i'm assuming), but what about the shielding? should this not be connected to anything, or should it be grounded along with the common ground from the drivers? it seems to me that having it electrically connected would only serve to make noise more apparent, which is why i ask.

Solder the braided shielding to the ground pin of the 1/4" connector only.
