Are there any places in LA that will rent high end headphones ? I am especially interested in a Stax Lambda Pro/SRM 1 (or other Stax / electrostatic headphones).

I don't even think there's a market for headphone rentals... the hygiene issue aside, imagine the security deposit on a pair of HE90s or R10s!

I'm in NYC. A few years ago I checked out places to rent a dac. I noticed that some rented Stax earspeakers for monitoring.

Google area recording studios or places that rent recording equipment - - you might have some luck.

Might be easier to see if there is anyone who lives near you that is willing to let you audition some. There might be a Stax retailer near you as well (though there are only 2 listed in California on the Stax website).
