I have recently acquired MD5000s. Someone suggested that "Renaissance Wax" would form a harder and overall better protective barrier for the D5000 wooden cups than carnauba wax. I've obtained a small jar of the substance, but when I opened it the smell was fairly strong, and rather reminiscent of shoe polish.

For anyone who's used Renaissance Wax to protect woodies, does the smell bother you when the cups are on your ears? Is it too strong, or do you get used to it, or does the smell dissipate entirely after a while? If so, how long does it take before it's no longer a problem?
