Headphile's $345 ultimate cable upgrade removes the PCB's from the K-1000 and hardwires in completely new cabling (the PCB is a notch filter designed by AKG to "lessen standing waves determined by ear shape and speaker angle"). Larry at Headphile thinks that AKG has "overdone" the notch filter arrangement, and claims that everyone who has heard the modded K-1000 has liked it better than the original. Has anyone here heard this modded version? (I tried to post my question at the "Cables and Tweaks" forum but no one has replied so far. The search engine also seems to be down for a while.) Thanks.
