While I adore my Grados, the pewter finish on the newer 325is is hideous, and I want it gone. if anyone wants to show me a protip to do this, I'd be thankful.

Its anodizing.
It may be easier to have new cups turned by a friend with access to a CNC lathe than to actually take the anodizing off
My method for fixing SR325 was to sell them and buy RS1.
