Hey, someone just accepted my offer on ebay, and I should be getting some of the coveted Denon AH-D5000's! Awesome!

Although they should be arriving in good condition, they still have a few nicks and scratches in the wood. Understandable - similar to the chrome on old touches, a small scratch wipes off the coating and makes things look much worse than they actually are.

So, can you guys recommend some Brasso for wood? Someone mentioned Carnauba Wax - is that a good idea? I don't want resin affecting the sonic signature.

Anything else I should be aware of? I would like to keep these in good condition, considering their rarity.

Thanks guys!

I probably would leave the scratches just as they are, but I am pretty sure polishing the wood with brasso and treating it with wax won't alter their sonic characterstics. I am not even sure the wooden cups actually add anything to their sound. It wouldn't surprise me much that I won't hear any difference if those wooden cups were replaced by plastic D2000 cups...
