Hi,
Is it true that by removing the filter that's in the nozzle, one can increase the treble response? I read that it would increase sibilance. Is sibilance that bad?
Do you recommande that I try it on SE530?
Thanks

Dude that filter shapes the sound. Removing it will make the SE530's sound horrible. Apply my mod and it will boost the treble presence.

I would be more concern about violating the warranty and risking dirt / earwax falling into the transducer.

Yeah, I found it was like maxing the 7kHz EQ out so It's a bad idea.
Thanks!

Oh I didn't think about that, fortunately you told me.
In my life I took great risks and got incredible rewards which explains my state of mind.

Was the treble to harsh for you?

Oh wow. I find the treble perfect now. It's sooo much clearer and crisp..Everyone hears differently though. Glad you tried it!

Do what? My mod or the filter removal?

Also did you get your customized Shure SE530's and Ultimate Ears Triple.Fi 10 back yet?

The customs are on the way...

Believe me we're the same. I always want more myself but it's just that the SE530's right now sound so damn good. I really can't imagine a custom earphone providing enough of an improvement to justify the $800+ dollars. Thus the reason why I will guarantee get a high end portable amplifier.

Crazy sauce, I was about to start a new thread but I think my questions can be answered in this one. I have a set of shure e4c's and I just recently got custom ear molds done for them. I just wanted to know if it was ok to remove the nozzles with the filters since they had more open air between the transducer(learned a new word by reading the forum here ^_^) and my canal. Please excuse my naivety on the subject, I'm new to all this. They seem to fit better in my molds without the nozzles but the way everyone on here talks I'm missing out on a major part of their design by removing them. I look forward to your words of wisdom.
