Removing DT800 and RP21 earpads?

I read that Beyer pads can be used on the RP21, and I wanted to try a pair of DT880 velour pads on the RP21. However, I don't know how to remove either pads and I don't want to break them. Does anyone know how to properly remove the earpads?
