... and there is this weird plastic film stuff under where it was. Under the film it's colored gold near the holes. How do I remove it?

Maybe try a bit of isopropyl alcohol? Use very little, as it could dull any clear coat that might be on the grill.

Before that though, it could be smart to try a rag with warm water. Of course, keep the ear cup upside down so no water hits the driver
