I am looking to upgrade from my current 225x which I really enjoy …. connected to my Schiit magni + and my lyngdorf 1120 ..looking for a set that will play well at relatively low volumes !.. considering ..
Hemp ..lots of good reviews on here , however some say they need volume to sound good ?
RS2X… Not sure how well they play at low volume ?.
RX1X .. Again good reviews but a mixed bag of sounding a bit lean , and again little as regards to low volume ?
GS1000X … great reviews and a mention of playing well at low volume but towards the very top of my budget ?
any imput from actual owners would be helpful ?…

Save your money and go with a different brand. Grado drivers are all the same and if you actually look at the measurements for the various Grado cans yoi can verify the sound is basically the same too.

I went from the SR60 on up to the RS1 and never liked any. Uncomfortable and antiquated at best. Piercing highs and no bass…all lost to a leaky seal and poorly designed cup.
