Just a quick question hopefully. Could you use a woo audio 3 pre amp/ amplifier and connect it to headphones? As I understand it you need a pre amp and then an amplifier for the turntable but the way in reading it you could get a combined pre amp and amplifier and connect it to headphones?

A turntable needs a phono preamp (or phono stage) that applies the RIAA equalization curve (the equalization is applied before the record is pressed for various reasons) and raises it to line level.
 
If you connect a turntable to an amplifier without a phono preamp it'll be very quiet and very bass light.
