So I just got my new Rega P3, and was very very excited to hook it up and get some tunes going on. To my surprise, there is no ground cable. There seems to be not as much static as my old table ungrounded, but there is still more static than it grounded. I am not really sure what to do at this point. The overall sound quality is much better, especially on the new LPs, but the increased static is killing me.

I have read that the P3 is grounded through the interconnects, but this requires my phono to be grounded. I currently have a Pro-Ject Phono Box II, and its electricity cable is clearly not grounded. I am fine with getting a new Phono, but I am not I am kind of at a loss here, any suggestions?

Oh, by the way, I am not opposed to getting a new phono..as long as the price is reasonable lol

edit: After a bit more listening, I am hearing that only the right channel is staticy.

For whatever reason, Rega runs ground on the left channel. There are various grounding schemes that can help, but I sent my RB300 to Brit Audio (IIRC) for a recable job. I'm not a believer in aftermarket cables, however, the Cardas replacement had a proper grounding wire.

You can rewire the arm yourself, but it's tricky. I decided it was worth paying a few extra bucks to have someone experienced rewire it.
