I've been having trouble finding a pair of high end active monitors to be used with my computer as speakers since the expensive ones are usually very large (8 inch +).

I don't want something too big so a 5 inch woofer should be enough for my needs.

Problem is I can't seem to find 5 inch active monitors that are reference models costing between 1-2k $ as that is my budget for these.

Why is that the case? In Hi-Fi world it's so easy to find ultra expense speakers for that size but since I will be using them at my desk (nearfield) and I like neutrality I want to sell mine and replace them with monitors.

Want something that looks good and sounds as good as possible.

Will be using a dac/preamp as a volume control so don't want or need a volume knob at the front.

Tone adjustments at the back for positioning is a must and a clip light indicator at the front would be nice to have.
