Hey folks,
 
Auditioned some kit recently and have pretty much decided I like the Isabella ( Balanced and retubed ) with some LCD-2's.
Problem as usual is budget! so...
 
Currently running
 
MacbookPro - DAC1Pre - 'Some amp?' - LCD-2's(on order!)
 
( Convinced a Audeophilleo 2 is a good future upgrade but thats another thread!  )
 
Anyway, not sure what to do next?
 
I need something in the short term to run the LCD-2's.
 
Tried a King Rex HQ and another SE amp but they seemed muddy and dull incomparison to the balanced output of the Isabella.
 
So I could get say a Lyr as a cheap short term fix and save my money for a future purchase... or what?
 
Get an Audi-gd Phoenix or similiar balanced amp!? ( Wait for the new MJOLNIR ?)
 
Concerned as I am aware the DAC1 is more clinical than musical shall we say!? How well will that match a balanced amp?
 
I have the option to part-exchange the DAC1 so could go for say a Burson HA-160D ?
Overall that might be more pleasing!? Not excited about this option but there may be a one box solution as an interim step?
 
Hopefully, you see where I am coming from and can guide me?
