reading an interview with stereolab's tim gane, he mentioned the new lp "margarine eclipse" was recorded in dual-mono. in other words, they recorded one song all the way through for the left channel, and recorded it again for the right. the effect is unusual to say the least, like a very well produced hard-left-right recording from the early days of stereo. are there any other bands today using retro production sound?
