I don't know if this is the correct forum to even post this thread, but I would like to ask some questions about recording equipment.

Are there any recording equipment/microphone that can be used to pick up details from let's say a guitar, and store it, like a Fiio X1, or do I have to buy a dedicated recording player?

Thanks if anybody has knowledge about this and could help me.
