Just picked up an AMP3 Pro1 and I thought that my 225s would be alright but found the hiss to get quite pronounced when the volume is over 20 so thinking about saving up for a set of cans to match them.

My budget is ~150 (shipped to Canada), going to run straight from the AMP3 and the main attributes I'm hoping for is transparency, soundstage, detail and instrument separation. Its hard to say what kind of sound I'm looking for since I listen to quite a wide variety of music so I guess I'll express how I am finding the sound using the 225s.

I will be doing more testing but my main rants using the 225s at the moment are:
Love the treble and accuracy of the bass (I do notice the bass roll off but might be hard to find something to compensate)
Low mids get a little busy when there's a lot going on.
Vocals slightly laid back and veiled.

Any feedback/recommendations will be greatly appreciated.

Which ones? DT880 or DT250? DT990 is most likely outta my range even if used.

What FW. version are you using with your AMP3 pro.1? 5.26 or 5.31?

Just saving up cash for now... (and sorta giving myself an excuse to get another set of cans... diam audio bug...

Currently using 5.26. Will try 5.31 once I think I've done sufficient testing.
