Recommended burn-in time for Senn HD650

well honestly...i do a break-in/listen combo.

I will of course queue up my favorite CD's and listen to them pretty much all day and night. Then, when im sleeping, i will play pink noise through the cans all night. If i work the next day, i let them run all day and again listen to them before i sleep..repeat.

I do this till i feel the sound has changed, if it hasnt i do it for 2 weeks and just give it a listen.

You must listen though, you want to hear how the sound differs.

i usually burn-in half of the headphone, then save the rest for a sandwich the next morning

I just got a pair of HD650 a week ago or so. I want to massage them with good music. And listen to it of course.

Don't bother. Burn-in is a lie. Or maybe I have bad ears.

Whether burn in is a lie or not, don't even bother trying to have that discussion, never ends, or have a conclusion.

Do what Progo says, its what I do and will do with my next cans. Play music when you are home. Pink noise when you are away. 300 hours, after that I don't bother burning in more than that.

There is a great 'burn in test'.
Burn in one driver with pink noise, and the other driver with your favourite tunes. Then you can listen to each side individually and see which sounds best!

Or just 'plug n play' its your ears that'll change most.

Cheers

Or compare brand new phones with 1000 hour ones. Someone should do this and make comparisons.

Which means proper burn in of the hd650s can be had now, only if they're retrieved from the year 2018, via time travel -- and i'm sorry but that's just not possible, so someone has their facts wrong.
