ok ill look into those, and what Amp would you suggest? and what about the 600 and 500 series that are cheaper? are they worth it or should I upgrade to the 700x series or the 500 and 600 x respectively?

The ATH-AD700 should work great for your FPS gaming, but the AD700 are very bass light.
Might check out the newer AD700Xs.

Ok so since they are essentially the same price, which one you consider better for gaming? the senn HD518 or the Audio techina 700X? and also, I might be needing some of this cash im going to spend for college, so would downgrading to a $50 to $70 headphones from senn or audio (maybe older versions or just their least expensive ones like the Audio's ATH-AD 500 or senn's HD 439?) or what about sony? Cause i can always upgrade in the future when I have more money, so would any of these be a good starting point?

From what I have seen and tested in stores, most Sony's under $300 are very artificially bassy, they also won't give you the soundstage you get with open over-ears, especially the AD700/x. If you are tight for cash, amazon sells the original AD700 used through warehouse deals for ~$80 used. You could also consult OCN's gaming headphone guide, which is how I picked mine. http://www.overclock.net/t/368653/ocnhc-guide-to-gaming-headphones-headsets
