I did indeed find the Melos Gold to be a terrific match with the W2002. I can't recall at this moment if I had my Melos Maestro at the same time I had the W2002, or just the Gold. Either way, if i didn't have the Sony R10 to compare against, I could have been quite happy with the Melos Gold/W2002 combo.
Can't speak to it's performance with the SHA-1 as I didn't have one on hand and have never actually heard a SHA-1. I went straight for the Gold in the Melos line. Fully satisfied, I then went for the upgraded Gold to Maestro and haven't looked back.
