I am looking for a full size headphone (like Senn, AKG, Grado size) for home use. I like dark sounding (bass-head) but i don't want it to degrade quality. about 150 bucks tops (but it is adjustable, i'd be willing to go a LITTLE* over)

(source iaudio X5)

*10 bucks or so.

Used SR225's, you can find them in the FS forum. My favorite purchase so far; my E2c's have been relegated to bus-only status. Great unamped out of headphone outs!

There are quite a few cans that fit these criteria - to name a few, HD555, K240S for open stuff, and as far as closed models go, ATH-A500 and A700, and possibly the K271S (warm sounding, but not a basshead model).

Heheh. Well, the SR225 are the darkest of the SR-series Gradoes.

The AT cans are good, along with most of the Senns.

I don't have any personal experience with them, but what about the HD580's? They're on sale for $108 somewhere

. I lost the link... but it's in a thread somewhere in this forum.

Yeah, the 580 would be perfect out of a home receiver or amp. I'm not so sure about using them from an iAudio X5 - I don't think it'll sound very impactful or well-extended from a portable player.
