Hi,
I am Abhisheak, I have been looking for a decent headphones from a very long time. But due to some constraints I was never able to buy one. But finally I have got a chance to buy a decent pair.
Frankly I have never been able to pamper my ears with quality sound, all the headphones I have used are so far cheap below ~$60 . So my experience in the world of audio is below par.
So coming on to the main topic, I will list my expectation/taste/preference (My language will be very noobish)

Genre I prefer to listen (I don't limit my self to any particular genre, but mainly I listen to these): EDM, Dance, Electro, House,  Pop, Rock, R&B & Hip-Hop.

Edit: i like bass but the base shouldn't overpower/overshadow other instruments, it shouldn't be like after listening for 10 minutes I have to rest my ears, bass should be present and punchy but shouldn't over shadow vocals and other musicak instruments, bass should be there where it is require. It shouldn't sound like cheap skullcandy headphones.
Budget is around ~$200 (But I can extend if a better sounding can is available)
My age (if it matters): 21

The headphones recommended by you will be my only cans, so recommended a headphones which play well for most of the genre (I know there is no 1 headphone for all type of music).
One of the major problem in the country I live in is that there is no place to demo or return the headphones, so I have to buy the headphones blindly on the basis of recommendations.
Reading above you may have guessed that this is my first serious purchase of a music instrument.

Vmoda m100 for certain if you're okay with $300.

Otherwise, look into the beyer dt770.

I'm assuming you want a closed headphone that you can take with you outdoors.

Hi,
Yes I prefer a closed headphone and portable too.
How is Sennheiser Amperior compared to M-100 and DT770?
(I have mentioned Amperiors because HD 25 Aluminium is not available in my country)

Since I prefer rock (excluding metal) and EDM, which is better suited out of the three (M100, Amperior, DT770).

To be quite honest I am very confused between the above three mentioned Cans. I have to spot on with my choice as in my country sellers has no return policy.

The m100s are complete basshead headphones. Great for edm but poor for rock, The dt770s would work great for edm but only ok for rock because of the recessed mids. The anperior would be the safest choice out of those headphones

The donscorpio dolphins paired with a fiio e6 may be another good options. I haven't heard them myself but everyone who gets them loves them. If you want more info, you'll have to  go to the asian headphone thread because i haven't heard these.

Hi,
Even I haven't heard of these and  I would not prefer a unknown brand, as  I have made my mind to get a premium/quality headphone and I would not like take a risk with a unknown company that has no brand presence in my country.

Rock music combined with EDM forms the major part of my listening.
I would prefer a all-rounder headphone which plays well with most of the genre and excels in rock and EDM.
The yamaha pro 400 and pro500 seem like a good option

Reading the reviews I guess they are not confortable for long listening hours, so i would not consider these Yamaha cans.

Is this your first time considering balanced headphones? You should demo a balanced headphone before you decide on a signature. What is your favorite iem you've heard?
