I like the sig (and price) on the BL-03 a lot--especially when I'm riding on a train where I need to compensate for low-end rumble in the environment.

But listening at home, they're too boomy for me.

Is there something similar that's less hyped in the bass?

Under $50 would be awesome, but under $200 would be great too.

One option is to EQ the midbass down, or use wider bore eartips at home eg Spinfit CP145. The wider bore tips tend to lower the bass in my experience compared to narrower bore ones eg Spinfit CP100.

Otherwise, there is great anticpation for the BLON BL-05, successor to the BL-03. It just released, so reviews have not arrived yet (but should filter out in the next few weeks). From the manufacturer graphs it looks like they tamed the bass:

Thanks for this. 4db down in the bass might be enough....

This is a graph I took with the BL-03 with foam tips, and the ER2XR with the triple flange tips.

It's important to note that the perceived signature of these would not be quite as similar as their frequency response graphs might suggest, simply because they are inserted into the ear canal at (relatively) significantly different depths.
In my experience, the ER2XR has a less bassy and clearer overall signature...a definite step up from the BL-03.foam-er2xr.png

- Moondrop Starfield
- ThieAudio Legacy 3
- Tin T2 is a great alternative to the BL03, for different genres of music, but it has a completely different sound signature.
- Of course the BL05, as mentioned above.
