Hey everybody. I'm pretty new to computer audio. I have my Grado SR-80s at work, which I have been listening to straight through the sound card. My work computer is a Dell Latitude D600. I am guessing the soundcard is garbage in this thing, Sigmatel STAC 9750 AC97.

Can anybody recommend what would be an appropriate addition to this system. Probably a USB DAC and amp would be good but I don't want to go overkill and reach the point of diminishing returns with the cans I have.

Oh yeah, I listen to a mix of FLAC and MP3, using foobar with the ASIO plugin. Would probably move to more FLAC with an upgraded system.

I guess my budget is undefined right now. I was wondering where some of you with more experience might think the point of dimishing returns with these headphones would be.
